The Stones: Carnelian
Published the 29.01.2020The Stones: Carnelian
Carnelian is a well-known variety of chalcedony.
Its most precious color is red-orange. If it is subjected to a slight heating, for example by rubbing it or simply bringing it closer to a heat source, the color becomes more intense and then reappears its original color when it is removed from the heat source and returns to its natural temper. If you want to make sure that its coloration does not tend to darken over time, you should avoid exposing it too much to direct sunlight.
Its hardness makes it particularly suitable for typical jewelry cuts and processes, such as the spherical shape or the cabochon, for example.
The Carnelian was found in the funeral breastplate of the pharaoh Tutankhamun, a fact that places this gem in ancient Egypt. In ancient times it was thought that it could protect the deceased during his journey in the afterlife.
Currently the largest deposits are in Uruguay and Brazil.
Carnelian is particularly suitable for reducing stress, just wear a Carnelian Bracelet or Carnelian Necklace to feel immediately more relaxed.
From a physical point of view, it helps a lot during diets and workouts. Carnelian, in fact, helps the body to better absorb nutrients and also works on the strongest structure in the entire body, the skeletal system.
Keeping a Carnelian inside will protect you from possible thefts and fires, which is considered a powerful protective stone. At the same time, however, care must be taken not to place it in the bedroom, it is not a stone to be in contact with throughout the day, you must always separate from it for a few hours. It can also be done by the back and have it close at night, as long as we have been away from it all day.
