Published the 24.06.2019Stones: Aventurine
The Aventurine is a translucent quartz that presents on its surface small incrustations of other minerals, a particularity from which it derives its name because in the absence of a precise structure the Italians said "à l'aventure" which meant "at random"
It is extracted mainly in Brazil, Chile, India, Russia.
The Green Aventurine is undoubtedly the most famous. The color is given mainly by the presence of fucsite. However, there is also Red Aventurine, known as sunstone, which owes its characteristic color to the presence of hematite.
Through some discoveries of Tibetan statues that had eyes made with Aventurine stones, it was possible to trace back to the legend that attributed to Aventurine the power to cure blindness.
The American Indians thought it could help their women conceive a child. To receive the right fortune during conception the Aventurine had to be buried in the earth inside an eggshell during the ovulation period.
More recently, on the other hand, anti-inflammatory, pain-relieving and anti-allergenic properties are attributed to Aventurine.
If worn around the neck in the form of a Necklace or Pendant, it promotes the regeneration of the heart and makes the blood flow better in veins and arteries.
Even soaking an Aventurine stone in a hot bath at least once a week promotes the elimination of skin impurities, calms acne and helps in dermatitis and allergies.
We also recommend placing it in front of the computer if you want to shield yourself from electromagnetic radiation.
It is a very common stone so it is easy to find it at a very affordable price.
